Muni League tells Metro that its costs are too high

In a critical report released yesterday, the Municipal League of King County said Metro Transit should take immediate steps to rein in its costs, which are 22 percent above the national average for transit agencies.

The Municipal League is a nonprofit agency staffed by volunteers whose mission is to improve government. The league called on King County Metro to curb cost-of-living adjustments for transit employees, which go up every year by 3 percent regardless of the rate of inflation.
