SEATTLE — The City Council is conducting a nationwide search for a new city auditor to replace Susan Cohen, who has decided not to continue in the position after her term expires in September. After 11 years, she is leaving to join the U.S. Department of Transportation's Inspector General's Office.
The council is responsible for appointing the auditor, who leads the Office of City Auditor, which is as an independent office within city government.
