City forms panel on economic policy

SEATTLE — The city has formed a new group of public and private business leaders to guide the mayor and city council on economic policy.

The 15-member Economic Development Commission includes Tay Yoshitani of the Port of Seattle, and University of Washington President Michael Young as well as representatives from Russell Investments, the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and others. Overall, it is a cross section of business, technology, labor and higher education.
