SEATTLE — The Seattle City Council and a panel of people involved with workforce development will hold a brownbag discussion today from noon to 1:30 p.m. about targeted hiring programs for city-funded capital projects. It will be in the council chambers in Seattle City Hall.
The city council said in a press release that several U.S. cities require contractors on city-funded projects to hire a percentage of residents who are economically and otherwise disadvantaged as a way to help people enter the construction field.
