Pierce County holds lead in industrial development

“Consistent and steady” is how the brokerage Kidder Mathews describes the first quarter for the region's industrial market, with strong leasing activity and a few big projects under construction.

The report lists eight projects under construction, mostly in Pierce County, totaling 2.08 million square feet. The three biggest are the Coho Building in White River Corporate Center in Sumner, a 649,000-square-foot space being developed by DCT Industrial Trust; IAC Port 167, a two-building, 650,000-square-foot complex in Puyallup being developed by International Airport Centers; and the Titan Building, a 306,000-square-foot structure in Sumner being developed by Panattoni Development Co. and LaSalle Investment Management.
