Heritage Bank president and COO Jeff Deuel was promoted to CEO, and chief lending officer Bryan McDonald was promoted to COO. Deuel replaces Brian Vance, who will continue as CEO of Heritage Financial Corp., the bank's parent, until his retirement in July 2019. Deuel also was named president of Heritage Financial. McDonald joined Heritage Bank after it merged with Whidbey Island Bank, where he was president. Olympia-based Heritage operates 65 branches between Bellingham and Portland.
