He wasn't your typical “victim” of legal malpractice.
After pleading guilty to wire-fraud and money laundering, Richard Neiswonger was sentenced to prison and ordered to pay almost $3 million in restitution. Thanks to a “secret contribution” by his ex-wife, the Missourian never even paid the full restitution. But that little fact didn't stop the convicted felon from later suing his former criminal defense lawyers for almost $800,000 in damages.
