SEATTLE -- Denver-based Qdoba Mexican Grill has announced plans to open the first of three fast-food restaurants scheduled to open in Seattle by next summer. In time, that number could swell much higher.
"Qdoba is experiencing great successes in markets around the nation," said Gary Beisler, president and CEO. "I believe we will open as many as 20 in this market. We are all looking forward to great success in Seattle."
The restaurant's menu features 20-ounce burritos in addition to tacos, taco salads, nachos and "naked" burritos, which are served in a bowl.
The first Seattle restaurant will open in the Oak Tree Shopping Center next month.
Each new restaurant is approximately 2,000 to 2,200 square feet and seats 50.
The first Qdoba (pronounced kyoo-DOH-buh) Mexican Grill, formerly called Z-Teca, opened in Denver in 1995. The chain now comprises 55 restaurants in 17 states, including one in Spokane.
The company expects to reap $40 million in revenues this year. Last year the chain grossed $27 million.
