BELLEVUE -- Robert Young, founder and director of the Bellevue-based Red Feather Development Group, appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Monday last week as the recipient of Oprah's Angel Network's Use Your Life Award.
The $100,000 award recognizes individuals and grassroots organizations committed to community service.
Young founded the Red Feather Development Group in 1995 to help American Indian communities build affordable homes using straw-bale construction. The nonprofit development group has completed nearly 40 construction and home rehabilitation projects on reservations in Washington, South Dakota and Montana.
