New drawbridge OK'd for South Park

  • Replacing the 1930 bridge would cost an estimated $90 million. The project currently has about $10 million in funding from King County.

    State and federal authorities have approved King County's plan to replace the ailing South Park Bridge near the Seattle-Tukwila border with a new drawbridge.

    Parsons Brinckerhoff, which prepared the project's draft environmental impact statement, will soon begin preliminary engineering on a new span.
