Oregonians now looking at $35M to fix Capitol

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — In the cash-strapped year of 2002 an architectural firm figured the cost of needed repairs and upgrades for Oregon's Capitol at about $18 million, more than legislators felt they could or should spend at the time.

But today it looks like a bargain, with the estimate for the repairs tickling $35 million and climbing.
