RIDDLE, Ore. (AP) — Deputies playing a hunch returned to the scene of the crime and arrested four people they believe were finishing a copper-wire heist started earlier at a sand products company.
Thousands of feet of copper wire were stolen from the Green Diamond Products substation, Douglas County sheriff's deputies said. The loss, including property damage, was estimated at $35,000. The company produces sand for abrasives, foundries and roofing.
