City halts work on hotel project in Pioneer Square

    The owner wants to convert the 1918 Old Firehouse Market into a 32-room hotel with retail space and underground parking.

    The Department of Planning and Development says it issued a verbal stop work order yesterday on a Pioneer Square building that is being converted into a hotel.
