Rail tunnel crash site investigation continues

  • Obayashi is scheduled to respond today to a Sound Transit report criticizing its safety procedures at the tunnel site.

    Three teams of investigators are working in the Beacon Hill tunnel, trying to determine what caused a fatal accident there last Wednesday.

    A mechanic from Portland either jumped or was thrown from a fully loaded supply train near the western exit of the tunnel near Interstate 5 in the early hours of the morning.
