BELLEVUE — Paccar will build a $400 million, 400,000-square-foot engine plant and technology center in Columbus, Miss. Construction will begin this summer and is due to be completed in 2009.
The plant will manufacture 12.9-liter and 9.2-liter diesel engines for Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF vehicles. Jim Cardillo, executive vice president, said it will be the company's most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly plant. Employment will start at 200 and grow to about 500.
