AGC says Bush cut infrastructure funds

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Bush yesterday released a $3.1 trillion budget for 2009 which shrinks funding for infrastructure.

Bush's budget seeks to cut $1.8 billion from the highway program, $200 million from the transit program and $750 million from the airport improvement program. That's 2.9 percent below last year's infrastructure funding level.
