Coal Creek Parkway closing for upgrade

NEWCASTLE — The city of Newcastle plans to close Coal Creek Parkway on Wednesday and Thursday so that workers can install girders on May Creek Bridge. The road will be closed from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days.

Workers from C.A. Carey Corp. will be installing 15 girders spanning the eastern half of the bridge. The city may close the road on Friday if the work isn't finished Thursday.
