Aspiring engineers to build bridges with Popsicle sticks

The Younger Member Forum of the Seattle Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers on Saturday is holding its 13th annual Popsicle Stick Building Competition at the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

The event exposes local high school students to civil engineering and construction careers through a hands-on exercise requiring them to build a bridge from Popsicle sticks that can support up to 800 pounds. The event challenges students' creativity and science and math knowledge.
