SEATTLE The Alaskan Way Viaduct has sunk another 3/8 of an inch since its last inspection, the Washington State Department of Transportation announced today.
The viaduct has sunk a total of 5.5 inches since the 2001 Nisqually earthquake, but state bridge preservation engineer Harvey Coffman said the rate of settlement has slowed considerably.
