Ferry terminal upgrades on hold as state revises long-range plan

A $225 million plan for improvements at Colman Dock in Seattle is one of several that have been delayed. Preservation and maintenance work is still needed there, including replacing wooden pilings and replacing the transfer span that connects the fixed dock to the ferry dock.

What was once an ambitious plan to spend $627 million to improve several ferry terminals is now in limbo while the Washington State Ferries figures out how to do more with less.
