Idaho Power to ask residents about transmission line route to Oregon

BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) — Idaho Power Co. plans to ask residents of Eastern Oregon to consult with the utility on a route for a 500-kilovolt transmission line.

Farmers and local officials have criticized the route the utility, using a contractor, has proposed, arguing it ought to go on public land rather than agricultural land.
