Walls fly off ‘Cuckoo’s Nest’ hospital

  • Part of the 125-year-old J Building where the movie was filmed will be turned into a museum; most will be removed to make way for a new 620-bed mental hospital.

    Demolition began Monday on Oregon State Hospital's J Building.

    SALEM, Ore. — Workers from Konell Construction on Monday began tearing down part of the Oregon State Hospital building where Jack Nicholson played a rebellious patient in the 1975 film classic “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”
