The ports of Seattle and Tacoma are joining together to seek federal stimulus funding for some long-overdue rail projects that they say would ease cargo chokepoints along the Interstate 5 corridor.
“There is urgency every single day for the next three years. We cannot let up,” Seattle Port Commissioner Gael Tarleton said at a joint meeting of the two ports yesterday.
