County is building $19M co-gen system at West Point plant

King County is gearing up for a $19 million project to install a new cogeneration system at the West Point Wastewater Treatment Plant in Seattle's Discovery Park.

The new system will generate more than twice the power of the old system, which was decommissioned in about 2003 after nearly two decades of service. The old system, which had outlived its useful lifespan, produced 1 megawatt of electricity per year.
