South Park Bridge now ‘shovel ready'

SEATTLE — After eight years, the environmental review for the new South Park Bridge is done.

Officials say this makes the $130 million project “shovel ready.” Projects must meet that benchmark to be considered for federal stimulus dollars. King County has applied for a $99 million federal grant. Grants are scheduled to be awarded next year.
