GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — When Savage Rapids Dam was removed to help Rogue River salmon, the river was supposed to flush out the gravel built up behind it.
So far, December rains have pushed enough gravel downstream to bury the water intakes for a pumping station built to take the place of the dam.
