SR 14 slope work starts next week

STEVENSON, Skamania County — Hi-Tech Rockfall Construction will close state Route 14 just east of the Dog Mountain Trailhead in Skamania County for two hours each weekday afternoon from March 10 to June 14.

The Forest Grove, Ore., contractor will be drilling into steep slopes adjacent to the road and blasting away 22,000 cubic yards of rock to prevent future rockfall on the highway.
