AGC: Construction has yet to hit bottom

  • During 2009, Washington lost 34,400 jobs or 19 percent of its construction workforce.
    • By JOURNAL STAFF

    The Associated General Contractors of America says the national construction workforce was smaller in every state and the District of Columbia in January than it was a year earlier.

    Washington, Oregon and Idaho were among the hardest hit for losing jobs on a percentage basis, ranking 45th, 46th and 48th, respectively.
