$44M for repairs at Hanson Dam

SEATTLE (AP) — Sen. Patty Murray says the $44 million needed to make critical repairs to Howard Hanson Dam on the Green River is in a bill that passed the Senate and now goes to the House.

A reservoir wall at the dam was weakened by heavy rains in January of 2009, drastically increasing the dangers of flooding in the heavily developed Green River Valley downstream.
