OLYMPIA — The Washington State Department of Transportation is hiring someone to make and install signs that will let drivers know about tolls on the state Route 520 bridge.
Starting next spring, bridge tolls will be collected electronically through prepaid accounts or by mail via bills sent to registered vehicle owners. Toll rates will vary depending on the time of day; the goal is to encourage more off-peak travel and reduce congestion.
