$5M recommended for South Park Bridge

SEATTLE — An independent board that advocates for freight mobility has recommended up to $5 million for construction of a new South Park Bridge.

The 81-year-old bridge has reached the end of its useful life and was closed earlier this summer. The county estimates the cost of demolishing the old bridge and building a new structure to be more than $130 million.
