Early next month, Swedish will open the second and final phase of the Swedish/Issaquah Medical Center on Northeast Blakely Drive in Issaquah.
This phase is a 156,000-square-foot, 80-bed hospital with support spaces and room for expansion.
The first phase opened in July, with a 200,000-square-foot medical office building for clinics, Swedish Cancer Center, an emergency department, ambulatory care, pharmacy, laboratory imaging center and retail space.
The total cost for both phases has been estimated at about $360 million.
CollinsWoerman did site design, exterior architecture and most of the interior design for both phases, and Sellen Construction was the contractor. Callison designed tenant improvements for the first phase building.
Hammes Co. is the project developer and owns the office building. Swedish owns the hospital.
The hospital is oriented to get full sun on three sides and daylight in the basement. High performance and well-insulated walls reduce energy consumption and a green roof holds stormwater and increases energy efficiency in the buildings.
