Toll Brothers enters this market, buying Kirkland builder CamWest

  • One housing expert says this region had about 200 homebuilders before the downturn. Today, there are only about 10 active builders.

    On Monday Toll Brothers became the latest big homebuilder to enter the Puget Sound market when it acquired CamWest Development of Kirkland.

    The price of the all-cash deal was not disclosed, though public records show that Toll Brothers paid nearly $106 million for CamWest's holdings in King County. Toll Brothers also acquired lots and land owned by CamWest in Snohomish County but the price was not immediately available.
