Steilacoom ferry terminal upgrades

STEILACOOM, Pierce County — The county is holding a meeting next Tuesday for the public to learn about potential safety and efficiency improvements to the three ferry loading lanes at the Steilacoom Terminal.

Potential improvements include adding a ticket booth between the loading lanes, installing raised crosswalks, and increasing lane capacity by closing Lafayette Street west of Union Avenue. A final proposal, time-line and funding will be identified later.
