Alaska airport move could cost $45M

KAKTOVIK, Alaska — The North Slope Borough plans to relocate an airport in Kaktovik, an island town of 308 on the Beaufort Sea.

The project will involve construction of a new runway and a mile-long access road. A landfill and sewage lagoon would be decommissioned and replaced to make way for a new apron.
