Pierce County faces rescue boat deadline

TACOMA (AP) — The Pierce County sheriff's office has the money for a new patrol and rescue boat, but it may not have the time.

The department expects to spend $730,000 for a 35-foot boat to replace the boat that sank last summer while docked in Tacoma.
