BELLEVUE — Overlake Medical Center will hold a grand opening for its new and expanded Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at 1035 116th Ave N.E. at 10 a.m. Nov. 1, followed by an open house from 4 to 7 p.m.
The 5,100-square-foot, $3.6 million facility will be staffed by Seattle Children's Hospital, and allow doctors to treat babies at 26 weeks gestation.
A total of 18 infants can be cared for in the unit, which has private rooms that are roughly 50 percent larger than in the former NICU.
The intensive care unit was designed by GBJ Architecture and built by GLY Construction.
Other project team members are Engineering Economics, mechanical/plumbing; Coffman Engineers, electrical; Seattle Structural, structural engineering; Altermatt Associates, acoustical; and Terri S. Bertucci Interior Design, interiors.
