New $46M siphon will carry waste under the ship canal

The 100-year-old Fremont Siphon is one of three that runs under the ship canal.

North Seattleites may not know it, but when they flush their toilets their by-products start a journey inside a pipeline that includes a detour below the Lake Washington Ship Canal before ending up at the West Point Treatment Plant in Discovery Park.
