MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Crater Lake National Park is preparing to make some repairs to historic Rim Drive — a 30-mile stretch of roadway at an elevation of more than 7,000 feet on the caldera of a dormant volcano.
Park maintenance chief Ray Moore tells the Mail Tribune it's not easy building a solid road base on the volcanic rock.
