Roofer gets 60-day sentence for fraud

TUMWATER, Thurston County — A Lake Stevens man was sentenced to 60 days of electronic home monitoring and ordered to pay $59,320 in restitution after a state investigation showed he failed to obtain workers' compensation benefits for his employees.

David Erick Rau, owner of Davey's Roofing, pleaded guilty in Snohomish County Superior Court to one count of employer false reporting, according to the state Department of Labor & Industries.
