Crushed cars fall from Tacoma barge
TACOMA (AP) — A Coast Guard inspector is checking a barge in Tacoma's Commencement Bay Monday to make sure it can be moved without developing another leak.
If a repair is holding, Coast Guard spokesman Nathan Littlejohn says, the barge will be moved to the Schnitzer Steel recycling operation about a half-mile away to unload the barge's load of crushed cars.
