KETCHIKAN, Alaska (AP) — What began as an oven repair call ended as a bald eagle rescue mission for Nathan Brooks last week.
The Ketchikan Daily News reports that Brooks and customer, Roberta Shields, felt compelled to help a bald eagle that was standing on the house's driveway. Shield says she was apprehensive at handling a bird protected by law, but she felt that it would not survive neighborhood cats and dogs.
