BNBuilders, in a joint venture with High Tech Construction, won an Engineering News-Record 2012 Best Project Award for rebuilding Rimrock Auto Arena in Billings, Mont., following a June 2010 windstorm that tore off the roof and destroyed the interior.

The $30 million project won in the Sports & Entertainment category. It involved extensive demolition and replacement of major structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural and enclosure components.

The 232,000-square-foot arena is the largest event center within a five-state region. It seats more than 10,000 and hosts trade shows, conventions, concerts, rodeos, sporting events and livestock shows.

CTA Architects Engineers of Billings was the lead design firm and MEP engineer. Other team members were: DowlHKM, civil engineer; Bjordahl Structural Consulting, structural engineer; Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon & Williams, acoustic and sound consultant; and Peaks to Plains Design, landscape architect.

BNB has offices in Seattle, Spokane, San Diego and Redwood City, Calif.
