Cracks, columns get repaired on pontoons for 520 bridge

  • Six of the 10 columns on one of the pontoons must be replaced. The columns are 58 feet tall.

    This repaired pontoon was floated out of a dry dock on Harbor Island on Tuesday.

    Repairs are well under way on the cracked pontoons plaguing the Washington State Department of Transportation's state Route 520 bridge replacement project.
