Seattle Tunnel Partners is preparing to restart Bertha, the machine digging the SR 99 tunnel in Seattle, sometime this week.
In a news release, WSDOT says crews will finish inspecting the excavation chamber and cutterhead today. That will complete hyperbaric work that started nearly two weeks ago. As of Sunday, crews had performed 36 hyperbaric “interventions,” totaling 134 hours over 10 days.
