Walton Lofts in Belltown tops off

Rendering by Schon Creative [enlarge]

Yesterday The Schuster Group topped off Walton Lofts, its 12-story upscale apartment building in Belltown, and celebrated with a roof-top event for the crew.

The building at Western Avenue and Vine Street was designed by Shoesmith Cox Architects and VIA Architecture, and is being built by Turner Construction.

The team also includes Coughlin Porter Lundeen, structural and civil engineer; Auburn Mechanical, plumbing engineer; Hermanson, mechanical engineer; Sequoyah, electrical engineer; PanGeo, geotechnical engineer; and Kenneth Philp Landscape Architects.

Walton Lofts is near the waterfront and Olympic Sculpture Park. The 136 loft apartments — studios and one- and two-bedrooms — are set to open next summer.

Schuster said the units have sophisticated finishes, and the building will have a library and views of Elliott Bay.

The project is targeting Green Globes certification, and is seeking three globes, which is equivalent to LEED gold.

Pre-leasing will begin next spring for people who sign up at lifeatwalton.com, and public pre-leasing will follow.

The project broke ground in February.

The Schuster Group is a Seattle-based real estate investment, development, and merchant banking firm that was established in 1989.
