SEATTLE — The Seattle City Council on Tuesday unanimously passed “priority hire” legislation to help low-income people get construction jobs.
The legislation requires city-funded construction projects over $5 million to have at least 20 percent of their workers from economically distressed areas in Seattle and King County. It also supports apprentice programs.
