Haggen has five months to convert 146 grocery stores

  • The time it takes to convert the former Albertsons and Safeway stores will vary store by store.

    Kirkland-based Woodman Construction is project manager for the conversions, and will be the general contractor on stores in Washington and Oregon.

    Bellingham-based grocery chain Haggen is starting work today to convert the first of 146 soon-to-be-acquired stores into Haggen groceries.
