KODIAK, Alaska (AP) — Federal officials have cleared the way for the installation of a new launch pad at Kodiak's Pacific Spaceport Complex, but the future of the project remains uncertain due to a lack of funding.
The Kodiak Daily Mirror reports that the Federal Aviation Administration has released its final assessment of project, determining that the medium-lift launch pad won't have a significant environmental impact. The device will allow heavier rockets to be launched at the complex.
