Owner pleads guilty to asbestos fraud

SEATTLE (AP) — The owner of a company that provided federally mandated training for construction firms that work with asbestos has pleaded guilty to giving certifications to people he knew had not taken his course.

U.S. Attorney Annette Hayes says Isaac Cole owned a company that provided asbestos training courses. According to his plea agreement, Cole certified various asbestos workers between 2013 and 2016 even though they had not completed the safety courses.
